Accountabilities

  • Comprehensive understanding of the HealthCare System Pathways regarding gynecological cancer setting.

  • Active mapping of initiatives and insights from the Healthcare System that can supply to the improvement of patient pathway.

  • Proactively drive and/or support balanced system transformation for patient management.

  • Work in a cross-functional team as a medical-scientific expert in the gynecological cancer therapeutic area.

  • Help develop the medical strategy and its implementation within the framework of the integrated plan, based amongst others upon the external medical environment insights.

  • Prepare, manage, implement, and follow a tailored field medical and communication plan aligned with gynecological cancer therapeutic area.

  • Build and maintain peer level relationship with key external experts to support understanding of the Portuguese healthcare ecosystem & clinical dynamics and to engage with the medical/scientific community in a highly credible, balanced, and objective manner, representing AstraZeneca’s dedication to and excellence in science.

  • Support local, regional, and global AstraZeneca clinical research program and externally sponsored research projects.

  • Cultivate opportunities to build real-world evidence data generation projects in collaboration with the medical and X-FT team.

  • Partnering with other internal stakeholders providing medical-scientific contribution on account working.

  • Help set up and provide medical-scientific training and further education in your therapeutic area for the sales force and other AZ personnel.

  • Organization and execution of field medical and communication plan.

  • Support of the Medical Governance Team (Medical Information / Patient Safety) in handling of external medical and scientific requests.

Essential Skills/Experience

  • University degree or equivalent experience in a health-related scientific field.

  • Good understanding of oncology.

  • Professional experience of working in the pharmaceutical industry.

  • Gynecological cancer therapeutic area experience within clinical research will also be considered.

  • High-level of scientific knowledge and ability to analyze and process clinical and scientific data.

  • Experience in collaborating closely with healthcare professionals.

  • Quick self-learner, ability and willingness to work in a team and independently.

  • Communicative competence and presentation skills.

  • Written and verbal communication skills, including communicating sophisticated technical, scientific, or medical information to broad audience types.

  • Very good knowledge of spoken and written Portuguese.

  • Very good command of written and spoken English.

Desirable Skills/Experience

  • Experience gynecological cancer setting

  • Experience in a field medical role or within Medical Affairs.

  • Project management skills.

  • Knowledge of the legal and ethical framework and the procedural guidelines that apply to the promotion and approval of medicinal products in Portugal.
